The Red Arrows are heading to Ostrava again!

23.04.2026, 08:03

One of the world's best aerobatic groups is returning to the largest security show in Europe. Visitors to the 26th NATO Days in Ostrava & the 17th Czech Air Force Days can look forward to an unforgettable performance by the British Red Arrows team just after one year.

Nine Hawk aircraft will once again perform in precise formations and dynamic maneuvers, accompanied by the iconic blue-red-white smoke, over the Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport.

“Last year, we were able to see the return of this iconic group after a long 13 years. When the team members told us that they would be back in a year, we didn’t think they meant it literally,” says Zbyněk Pavlačík from the organizing Jagello 2000 Association. “We attribute it to the atmosphere at our event, which made such an impression on them. So it is also thanks to our fans and visitors that they keep their words.”

The Red Arrows aerobatic group was founded in 1964 and is famous for its perfectly executed tight formations that it displays during its performances. All of its pilots have experience in combat deployment on supersonic aircraft such as the Eurofighter Typhoon. In addition to the pilots, the team also includes a hundred mechanics and other support personnel.

Since 1979, the group has been performing on Hawk jet aircraft from the British company BAE. Thanks to their agility and robust construction, they are popular not only for training, but also for aerobatic performances. In addition to the British Red Arrows, the Finnish Midnight Hawks and Saudi Hawks from Saudi Arabia also performed with these aircraft above the Ostrava airport.
